Based on our experience from working with ZERO SILENCE director Jonny von Wallström wanted to create a workshop with activists in Uganda. Giving them an insight into what he learnt from the Arab spring. The workshop was held during a week in 2013 with the goal of introducing Ugandan journalists to new media tools and a case study of the film ZERO SILENCE which followed the Arab activists journey before, during and after the Arab spring. This was the first pilot workshop to a larger project we’re now developing together with journalists from Uganda.
Together with The Swedish Institute and Ugandan journalists, Story4change are taking the experiences learned from the documentary projects, Zero Silence and The Pearl Of Africa creating a second workshop in Uganda. It will be held in the beginning of 2015 with the focus on educating Ugandan journalists in how to use new media tools to share their stories.
